The Story Behind The Protector's Prayer
Our Story
The Protector’s Prayer — A Story of Obedience and Divine Calling
The Protector’s Prayer is a story of obedience, divinity, and a calling far bigger than anything we could have imagined. It began with a simple truth: protectors carry a weight most people will never understand. And God placed a burden on my heart—not to innovate policing, not to add more technology, but to reach protectors at the level nothing else can touch: the heart.
A Lifetime of Preparation
Looking back, God had been shaping this story long before I ever realized it. Faith came early, and it came easy. I accepted Christ in third grade, and grew up watching both my parents reading their Bibles—quiet foundations God used to form the roots of my faith.
Young Life became the next layer of preparation. Week after week, camp after camp, God formed my leadership, softened my heart, and taught me to listen to His voice.
In high school, He nudged me into the Law Enforcement Explorers program—a place where grit, pressure, and responsibility began to take shape. Even then, He was preparing me to lead protectors, long before I knew what that meant.
Through those years—leadership moments, quiet prayers, difficult assignments, and Holy Spirit whispers—God was forming something in me that I wouldn’t understand until 2018.
June 6, 2018 — The Calling
I was at work. Nothing dramatic, nothing unusual. Just a room full of protectors doing what we always do—preparing and grinding through the unseen details of the job.
And then God spoke.
Clear. Direct. Undeniable.
“Lead the men and women you serve with a prayer.”
Not “write something inspirational.”
Not “start a brand.”
Not “launch a business.”
It was a command. A holy assignment.
And I knew this prayer was meant for protectors—for those who stand watch, run toward danger, and bear the weight.
June 8, 2018 — The Surrender
Two days later, I sat down to obey the calling.
I printed another prayer as reference—underwhelmed, unmoved.
I tried to write. Nothing.
I tried to list traits protectors should have. Still nothing.
I hit a wall.
And then, out loud, I prayed the only words that mattered:
“Lord, what do You want?”
The moment those words left my lips—instant chills. Full-body. A Presence in the room that could only be explained as the Holy Spirit.
And then the first line came:
“Lord, you have already won the battles I will face today.”
I scribbled it down as fast as I could. The rest flowed in minutes—twenty minutes, start to finish.
Not crafted. Not polished. Not edited into existence.
Received.
The prayer was born in surrender, not creativity. And I knew—deep in my soul—that God had given this prayer to protectors. I was only the pen.
The Confirmation
The days that followed were full of divine fingerprints:
-
Protectors read the prayer and felt the Holy Spirit move.
-
Mentors responded with tears and affirmation.
-
A pastor (and New York Times bestselling author) read it and said, “This is anointed.”
-
The vision expanded into something I could never have dreamed on my own.
-
God confirmed again and again that this wasn’t about a product.
-
It was a movement.
A calling to the heart.
A Prayer Meant for the Masses
Over time, the prayer quietly spread. Protectors:
-
Framed it
-
Carried it
-
Shared it
-
Gave it as gifts
-
Taped it inside lockers
-
Read it before shifts
It resonated because it was real—raw language protectors understand:
-
Courage
-
Strength
-
Wisdom
-
Grace
-
Brotherhood and sisterhood
-
Facing the unknown
-
Standing between danger and innocence
It became clear that this prayer speaks directly to a protector’s soul.
And it was preparing us for something we couldn’t see coming.
The Moment the Prayer Came to Life
Years later, a real-world moment—seen by the world—brought the prayer to life.
A moment where protectors stood shoulder-to-shoulder, responding fearlessly, without hesitation, to the unknown.
A moment that revealed exactly why God gave this prayer six years earlier.
In that moment, the prayer moved from words on a page to embodiment—line by line.
A living picture of the final sentence God spoke into existence in 2018.
Why We Exist Today
Protector’s Prayer is not:
-
a business strategy
-
branding
-
clever marketing
It is a brand of obedience.
One small yes at a time.
A calling lived out in faith, humility, and holy courage.
We exist for one reason:
To change (save) the hearts of protectors worldwide, so they can see the people they serve through a Christ-centered lens.
Technology won’t fix the relationship between protectors and the community.
Better gear won’t fix it.
More training won’t fix it.
Only Christ can.
The Mission Forward
We believe protectors need:
-
Identity
-
Purpose
-
Conviction
-
Community
-
Courage
-
Revival
And The Protector’s Prayer—God-given, Spirit-filled, and battle-tested—is the tool He gave to start that revival.
We are committed to sharing this prayer with every protector we can reach.
Through prints, products, devotionals, partnerships, and stories—everything we create exists to bring protectors closer to Christ and strengthen their hearts for the battles they face.
This is our calling.
This is our obedience.
And we believe God will continue writing the rest of the story.
